The Archaeological Museum of Chania, housed since 2022 in a modern 6,000 sq m building in historic Halepa with panoramic views of the Cretan Sea, presents timeless findings from the Minoan era to the Roman years that highlight the wealth of Western Crete; its emblematic collections include the unique seal of the “Lady of Malia”, the colorful sarcophagi from the Necropolis of Armenoi, jewelry and mosaics from Kissamos, as well as the impressive Roman mosaic of Glafki, all presented with innovative digital applications and in situ findings, while the visitor benefits from extensive educational spaces, a café, a shop and easy access (daily 08:30 – 15:30, closed Tuesdays), making the museum a top cultural destination in Chania.
